Dynam E-2C Hawkeye AEW: Condensing the Authority of an Airborne Command Center into a Flight of Handheld Imagination
Whether you're a fan of the E-2C Hawkeye AEW aircraft or a pilot who flew alongside it, you likely have a deep affection for the E-2C Hawkeye. Recently, Dynam designed and developed an RC aircraft version based on the E-2C Hawkeye AEW. This allows you to easily own an E-2C Hawkeye AEW and fly it in the palm of your hand. The Dynam E-2C Hawkeye AEW not only perfectly replicates its appearance but also many of its functions, including a realistic rotating radome and high-fidelity simulation design. Let's explore it together.
E-2C Hawkeye History Background
The E-2C Hawkeye is the U.S. Navy’s primary carrier-based airborne early warning and command and control aircraft. The twin turboprop Hawkeye shares its basic airframe with the C-2 Greyhound but is fitted with a 24-foot rotating radome housing an APS-145 (some have the APS-139 radar).
The E-2 Hawkeye is the Navy's all-weather, carrier-based tactical battle management airborne early warning, command and control aircraft. The E-2 is a twin engine, five crewmember, high-wing turboprop aircraft with a 24-foot diameter radar rotodome attached to the upper fuselage.
The E-2C Hawkeye early warning aircraft, currently in service, entered service in 1973 and surpassed 1 million flight hours in August 2004. Its active and passive sensors, engines, and propellers have all undergone multiple upgrades. The latest E-2C (Hawkeye 2000) is equipped with a new mission computer, improved radar displays, and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC). Combined with the Aegis Ashore weapon system, it will become a core force in future sea-based theater ballistic missile defense (TBMD). Its Airborne Tactical Data System (ATDS), consisting of an automatic detection radar, onboard computer, and storage and data link systems, is linked to the Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS) at fleet headquarters, providing an overall picture of the tactical situation. The E-2C's 24-foot rotating radar antenna rotates at 6 revolutions per minute and can be retracted 2 feet for storage on aircraft carriers. During flight, the lift generated by the radar antenna is sufficient to offset the aircraft's own weight.

The Dynam E-2C Hawkeye AEW is a precise, life-size replica of the US military aircraft Hawkeye E-2C, featuring details such as the rotating radome, landing gear doors, cockpit, and lighting system. It delivers unparalleled realism and visual appeal in flight. The No Decals version of the Hawkeye is customizable to your specifications. Internal reinforcement with carbon fiber rods and strips significantly enhances fuselage rigidity and durability. To mitigate fuselage damage in the event of a collision, the Dynam Hawkeye utilizes a magnetic quick-release nose section. Equipped with navigation lights (red/green), belly lights, and tail lights, it can fly normally even in foggy weather and at night.

Why you're Fascinated by Dynam E-2C Hawkeye?

The Dynam E-2C "Hawkeye" early warning aircraft is not just an ordinary model, but a core prototype. With its rotating radar, twin-engine performance, and exquisite detail, it delivers a highly accurate representation of the original. It provides a visually stunning experience while offering an unparalleled flight experience. Whether you're a military aircraft enthusiast or simply want to experience more powerful flight capabilities, the E-2C can meet all your needs.
Why does the Dynam E-2C Hawkeye have such powerful performance?
This configuration consists of two TomCat 3520-KV770 brushless motors and two 40A ESCs, boasting a powerful propulsion system and excellent flight performance. The TomCat 3520-KV770 brushless motors provide efficient and stable power output, with a KV value of 770, suitable for high loads and rapid response, ensuring the aircraft maintains strong thrust under various flight conditions. Combined with the 40A ESCs, the motor speed is effectively controlled and ample current is provided, ensuring smooth operation under high loads and preventing overheating or performance degradation.
With a thrust-to-weight ratio greater than 1:1, the aircraft's thrust exceeds its weight, enabling rapid takeoff, stable flight, and high maneuverability. This configuration ensures the aircraft can easily overcome gravity, take off quickly, and maintain agile handling and stability during flight, adapting to complex maneuvers such as high speeds and sharp turns.

What's the difference between RTF, BNF, SPNP and PNP?
PNP (Plug-N-Play) RC airplanes have everything you need EXCEPT a transmitter, receiver, and battery pack (battery & charger). It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, and servos.
BNF (Bind-N-Fly) RC airplanes come with everything you need to get in the air EXCEPT the Transmitter and battery pack (battery & charger). It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, and an SR6-RC iStone gyro receiver. They are easy to use, versatile, and safe, making them the perfect choice for beginners and experienced pilots. The BNF (Bind and Fly) version, receivers such as the SR6-RC work exclusively with Detrum transmitters.
Dynam SPNP (PNP + iStone All V3) RC airplane is a versatile and user-friendly aircraft designed for RC enthusiasts. Combining an easy plug-and-play setup with the advanced iStone stabilization system, it suits a wide range of pilots. The PNP + iStone V3 version includes the iStoneAll V3 6-axis gyro stabilizer w/ Vector runway correction, compatible with major radio transmitter brands like Futaba, Spektrum, Detrum, and etc., providing excellent versatility and flight performance.
The PNP configuration and iStone All V3 stabilization system with Vector Runway correction make this plane ideal for beginners, while offering features appreciated by intermediate pilots.
Dynam SRTF version is based on the standard RTF (Ready to Fly), which integrates the iStone 6-Axis Gyro Stabilizer w/ ABS system: RC airplanes get everything in a box to fly. The radio system (Transmitter and receiver), battery pack (battery and charger), and all other required electric parts are included and pre-installed. It contains model kits, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, Detrum transmitters, iStone gyro receivers, battery, charger, and adapter. RTF planes are a great way to enjoy the thrill of flying without too much hassle.
SRTF-8C Version: Features a PNP kit, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, Gavin-8C transmitter, SR6-RC iStone gyro receiver w/ Vector Runway correction, battery, charger, and adapter.
SRTF-DT9 Version: Comes with a PNP kit, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, Blitz-DT9 transmitter (programming & telemetry), SR86A-G 8-channel gyro receiver, battery, charger, and adapter.
SRTF-DT9 GPS RTH Version: Comes with a PNP kit, Detrum motors, TomCat Skylord ESCs, servos, Blitz-DT9 transmitter (programming & telemetry), SR86A-G 8-channel gyro receiver, GPS module, battery, charger, and adapter.
Mode 2 means left throttle; Mode 1 means right throttle.
IStone Gyro Receiver (The receiver integrated with iStone stabilizer and Vector runway correction):
Six-axis gyro high-precision stabilization function, auto-recovery, one-click rescue. Incredibly accurate and greatly improves the flying experience.
Regarding different aircraft, the parameter and sensitivity of the gyro receiver can be programmed with a Detrum transmitter (Gavin6C/Gavin8C/Blitz DT9) directly.
Quick and easy setup process. If you don't want Gyro to join the flight, just choose Gyro off mode on Transmitter.
Notes: If you want to be equipped with GPS autopilot or receiver, pls choose the SRTF-DT9 GPS version.
